Celebrate the Fourth of July Gulf Coast Style!

With the Fourth of July just around the corner, it’s time to think red, white, and blue!  With the Gulf Coast being home to so many military families, let’s remember to recognize their sacrifices and celebrate our freedom.  There are lots of great events on the coast this holiday weekend, from fireworks to festivals, and more!

Festivities aren’t just limited to fireworks, though.  Here are some other great events happening this weekend:

Check out the Red, White, and Blue Evening on Friday, July 1 at 7PM at the Mary C. O’Keefe Cultural Center of Arts and Education on 1600 Government Street, in Ocean Springs.  It will be a patriotic concert featuring local pianist, Laurie Carpenter.  Tickets are $10.00 for Members, $12.00 for Non-Members.  For more information, call (228) 818-2878.

Our Lady of the Gulf is holding its annual Crab Festival this Friday – Sunday, July 1 – July 3 from 10AM to 10PM.  This festival features food, live music, 100 Arts & Crafts booths, raffles, rides, and more.  It is located at 228 South Beach Blvd., Bay St. Louis.  Admission is free.  For more information, call (228) 467-6509.

Muddy Joe’s Off Road and RV Park is holding its 3rd Annual Spark at the Park this Friday – Monday, July 1 – July 4, from 9AM Friday to 9PM Monday.  Activities include fireworks, waterslides, bounce houses, a crawfish cook off, demolition derby, and auto cross, as well as tons of live music.  Tickets are priced as follows: Friday $40 for a 4-day pass (ATV/UTV) $10, Saturday $15 per person (ATV/UTV) $15, Sunday $10 per person (ATV/UTV) $10.  For more information, call (228) 255-7600.

On Monday, July 4 from 10AM to 10PM, Pass Christian Beach is holding their Independence Day celebration.  In the evening, folks will be flying LED light kites, and a fireworks display will take place on the beach.  Other activities include a bonfire and live music.  Admission is free.  For more information, call (901) 238-7540.

St. Peters by the Sea, 1909 15th St, in Gulfport, is holding a Family Fun Day on Monday, July 4, from 3PM to 9:30PM, where you can find water slides, BBQ Sandwiches, baking contest, and a talent show.  For more information, call (228) 863-2611.
